Pamela & Steph have weathered some difficult life events together as sisters and come out all the stronger for it. And what’s more, she’s cheered Steph along through all her career accomplishments – the sisters somehow ended up working in the same industry! Pamela is one of the kindest and most generous, outgoing, creative spirits Steph knows, and she’s so proud to call her sister. Pamela lives in Ohio with her husband, Joseph, their extremely cute twin sons, and their pets, Indy and Loki.
Brian Paul (or “BP” as he’s often called) is Steph’s best friend and a constant creative collaborator. Their friendship grew over a shared love of storytelling, especially through gaming, and they have run multiple LARPs in collaboration. (It also helps that he likes cats just about as much as Steph does.) BP is a dedicated and loyal friend who’s consoled and counseled Steph through all kinds of struggles, and she will never be done thanking him for it. BP lives in Portsmouth, New Hampshire with his girlfriend, Jessica, and their cats, Agamemnon and Thalia.
If there were Olympic competitions for kindness and generosity, Kristin would have a shelf full of gold medals. Steph and Kristin have lived together, vacationed together, bought a car together, and in all ways been a key part of each other’s lives for years. Kristin is also extremely smart, hilarious, creative, and a total rockstar in her career. Kristin lives in Holliston, Massachusetts, with her fiancé Adam.
Laura and Michelle have shared a special bond almost from birth: they’re close in age, and their dads are identical twins. (You can tell, right? Because they look so much alike, right?) Though their tempers sometimes (a lot of the time) clashed when they were younger, they were each other’s companion and confidante at every Labbé family event.
Whether they were putting on plays in the family room (admission: 25¢), fighting over the crown in Pretty Pretty Princess, or singing along (poorly) to “Bohemian Rhapsody” in the middle of a three-week road trip, Michelle and Laura have been all but joined at the hip for every visit, through good times and not-so-good ones, all their lives.
And although there were a lot of things Michelle didn’t know yet about what her future wedding would look like, she always knew Laura would be part of it: her cousin, her “genetic half-sister,” and her best friend forever. Laura lives in Clifton Park, New York, with her family and their cats, Teddy and Todd.
Craig and Michelle spent most of their childhood squabbling over who was smarter and faster and better, but Craig, in an apparent attempt to confuse his sister, would occasionally do something nice for no reason at all. Weird. During their teenage years, they surprised themselves further by actually liking each other and getting along. Craig introduced Michelle to the importance of voting in local elections, the works of Douglas Adams, and the many wonders and horrors of the world wide web. Together they developed probably hundreds of inside jokes (beeeeeeeeeeef).
In late 2011, Michelle found out she was really, really sick with autoimmune hepatitis. She needed a new liver, stat. Craig volunteered to be her donor, winning their sibling rivalry forever in the process. In 2013, Michelle had her transplant, and now she’s so embarrassingly healthy that she’s run two marathons.
If not for Craig’s generosity of spirit and body parts, Michelle might not be here getting married.
Craig lives in Reston, VA, with his roommates, his dog, Maggie, and his roommate’s dog, Penny.
Michelle’s dad taught her the secret of perfect pancakes, how to shingle a dollhouse roof, and how to paddle her own canoe (literally and figuratively). Together they’ve shared deep introversion, dad-and-daughter hikes up Old Rag Mountain, and dozens of “don’t tell your mom” ice cream trips. Michelle’s parents live in Falls Church, VA.
Michelle’s mom, a dyed-in-the-wool librarian, taught her to read for herself and to think for herself. Together they’ve shared a temper, a talent for writing, an abiding love for cats, countless books, and dozens of “don’t tell your dad” ice cream trips. Michelle’s parents live in Falls Church, VA.
Steph’s parents opened their hearts to Steph and her three siblings, all of whom are adopted, and loved and supported them throughout their lives. They live in Texas and will not be attending the wedding.
